Finally !  I’ve been waiting to share this book project with you until it came out in the English version, and here it is, the Berlin Style book by Abrams books coming out on April 14th.

I was lucky enough to take the photos for this project and to work with the supercharming team of Angelika Taschen,  Alexa von Heyden and Melanie Petersen –  as you might guess from some of the photos, we had a lot of fun in the process (one of the last photos shows Angelika and Alexa trying on typical Berlin and slightly nerdy glasses).

Angelika has become close to my heart and quite a role model for me, she lives life to the fullest and really knows how to enjoy simple moments, I noticed I left every meeting in a great mood because of that great attitude. Of course she worked very hard to get there.

For those who don’t know her, Angelika has been editing and publishing books for over 25 years while working with artists like Juergen Teller, Georg Baselitz and Jeff Koons and Karl Lagerfeld to name only a few… she lived in Los Angeles and is now for many years a Berlin resident. Her beautiful ‘Altbau’ apartment and her closet are worth a full day’s visit and I am always looking for excuses to invite myself over for coffee to check out the latest shoe purchase.

Some of Angelika’s favorites : a cashmere sweater by J.Crew; jewelry by Sabrina Dehoff; Jimmy Choo’s in rose gold,  a red Jil Sander coat, Frame Denim jeans; Wolfen knitwear

I will post more photos from the book and out-takes in the coming week.
