in Oslo with Hege Aurelie Badendyck

You might remember Hege Aurelie Badendyck, the super charming and beautiful Norwegian who I’ve been chasing for street style photos in the last years and who recently took on the role as editor-in chief of Costume magazine Norway.

It was not only Hege who made me curious about Oslo, I’ve met so many stylish and fun Norwegian bloggers recently and made good friends like Marianne and Annabel, so I really wanted to get to know their Northern hometown.

I spent a few great days last week exploring mostly by foot, visiting the Harbour, the Edward Munch and Astrup Fearnley museums and hanging out in Grünerløkka, the cutest neighborhood for cafes and watching people. As Hege confirmed, Oslo has really changed into an exciting place, with new restaurants, bars and cafes opening every week and more and more foreigners visiting and moving there. I didn’t expect to hear that the weather is actually quite mild and sunny during spring, summer, I would really love to come back and explore the nature around Oslo next time, it must be an absolute highlight of the city.

For an Oslo visit

here are some favorite cafés and restaurants Hege revealed to me:

Café Liebling in Grünerløkka
Kolonihagen in Frogner
Skur 33 at the harbour
Palace Grill in the centre (‘this is almost like an institution. A small spot that serves the daily 10 dishes. An amazing experience.’)
Angst bar
some favorite spots where you can get a view on Oslo
Grefsenkollen
Holmenkollen
Ekeberg Restauranten

Fashion-wise, Marianne and Annabel happen to work in the best shops right in the centre of town, so I knew where to go:

Hoyer, a huge place with pretty much all luxury brands and some Norwegian designers, I discovered like Fall winter Spring Summer (check them out, great basics !)
YME Universe, a super cool new concept store on three levels

Hege is wearing:

picture 1  Green sweater: Sweater by Zara, jeans by J Brand, boots by Acne Studios and bag by Tory Burch
picture 2   Top by H&M, jeans by J Brand and boots by Acne Studios

picture 3    Coat: Coat by Topshop, jeans by Never Denim, overknee boots by Gianvito Rossi, bag Saint Laurent,  white cable knit by Rag&Bone

I loved Hege’s style as always,  her over knee boots, that cool Topshop coat and the flared J Brand Denims, I own the same pair, they are so comfortable and create a nice silhouette (just the right amount of ‘bell-bottom’, not too wide, not too dated).
